5 Minute Games For Toddlers - Treasure Chest is a simple game made from a box and a piece of paper.
The treasure chest is really easy to make. Fill a box with treasure, a brush, a ball, a car for example and cut a hole big enough to remove these items easily. Then cut strips into a piece of paper, stick this over the hole to make a curtain. The aim of the game is to ask the toddler for an item that you have put in the box. The toddler then puts their hand through the paper curtain and pulls out the correct treasure just by feeling. Easy yes? No!
Bear refused to play, he screamed when I covered the hole with the paper curtain and just wanted to carry the box around, or put it on his head. They say never work with animals and children.

So we made up another game. Ball rolling, this he loved. We have a hot wheels track but you could use cardboard to make a ramp. Then using the balls from his ball pit we rolled them down the track into the box through the hole. Once the box got full the balls either rolled back, which amused Bear lots or formed a "traffic Jam". Either way Bear was happy, and that is what it is about really. Games to entertain that only take a few minutes to make.

Even when there was no room for any more balls Bear was happy trying to add more. |
So there we have two 5 Minute Games For Toddlers - Treasure Chest and Ball Rolling from one old box. I need more ideas so do you know any 5 minute games?
