Britax Römer Dualfix Car Seat Review- First Impressions
Britax Römer Dualfix Car Seat Review- First Impressions
We were overjoyed to be given the Britax Dualfix car seat to review*. With our second grandson we were looking for a car seat that swivelled. We found one of the hardest things with Bear was putting a squirming baby or toddler into a rear facing car seat in our Kia Venga. It is a smallish car which has ample room in the front but a bit restricted in the back. Even if it wasn't the law we want our grandchildren to be rear facing as long as possible. We didn't want the struggle to get them in to become an excuse to turn them at the first opportunity.

Our Weekly Journal 27th September 2017 - Fun at Garwnant
Our Weekly Journal 27th September 2017 - Fun at Garwnant
Every week I think that I will use less photos in our weekly journal. They take ages to resize (so that they load quickly), and then I have to label each one twice, once when I save it on my desktop, and again when I post it on the blog, it takes ages. So this week there is only one photo, well two, Ok I lied, there's hundreds. Maybe next week I'll just have one (or two).

#MySundayPhoto Number 39
This week #MySundayPhoto is of Bear with baby Bear at Garwnant. It is a wonderful place, free except for a small charge for parking. It has walks, sculpture trails and a great playground. There is a visitor centre and a cafe too, all in the foothills of the Brecon Beacons. We love it there.

A Touch of Luxury with Prestige Flowers
A Touch of Luxury with Prestige Flowers
I had a small procedure in hospital yesterday (nothing serious, just zapping my leg for varicose veins) so I was feeling a bit sorry for myself. When I arrived home, there waiting for me was a huge box and inside the most gorgeous bouquet* from Prestige Flowers.

The Cheese Tag
The Cheese Tag
The lovely (and slightly crazy but in a warm, and very funny sort of way) Mrs Helicopter has tagged me in The Cheese Tag. Jess is a turophile. I love cheese so couldn't say no.
Jess asked me some questions, I put the answers here and then tag some other cheese lovers to answer them on their blog. Easy Peasy.
So here goes;

Our Weekly Journal 18th Sept 2017 - Conkers and Potty Training
Our Weekly Journal 18th Sept 2017 - Conkers and Potty Training
We have talked about Potty Training with Bear before, but he just wasn't ready. Of all the tips we had been given the most popular was do not force it by starting too early. Wait until they are ready. This is such good advice.
Bears parents started on the Saturday so by Tuesday he was on day four. We wanted to go out while the sun was shining so took the easy option of visiting Tredegar Country Park. It's only a fifteen minute ride away so less opportunity for accidents. We packed his travel potty and buggy, bike, coats, wellies, change of clothes (times two incase of accidents) and filled the boot. Anyone would think we were going away for a week not having a walk in the park.

#MySundayPhoto Number 38
This week #MySundayPhoto is of one of the Snowdogs in Cardiff. There are 43 scattered around Cardiff and the Vale raising funds for Ty Hafan, a childrens hospice.
I didn't know this event was happening, I was just walking through the city centre when I came across one, then another and saw about four or five. There is an app that can be bought and downloaded to follow the trail or a map is on their website.
Ty Hafan is a great cause so if you are in the area see how many you can find.

Slimming World Weigh-In #24 - A New Beginning
Slimming World Weigh In #24 - A New Beginning
I knew I had been off plan for a month but when I looked back I have actually been off Slimming World for over two months! Wow, I really didn't think it was that long. I wrote a post about losing two stone but not losing four dress sizes. Looking back I can see how fed up I was. I was losing weight but not actually seeing a difference, even though photos told a different story.

Cardiff City Sightseeing Bus Tour - A Toddler Explores
Cardiff City Sightseeing Bus Tour - A Toddler Explores
Bear loves buses, I mean he really, really loves buses. We often catch the bus into Cardiff City Centre just for the bus ride. So for ages we have wanted to take him on an open topped bus tour of Cardiff. At the moment we only have Bear two days a week and we have been waiting for some dry weather on one of those days. Today the forecast was dry so we caught the bus into town, and then caught the tour bus.

Our Weekly Journal 4th Sept 2017 - Selfies and No Internet
Our Weekly Journal 4th Sept 2017 - Selfies and No Internet
I didn't write a journal last week, there were many reasons for that. Our internet went down and I couldn't edit any photos. I don't do a lot of editing, I just make them smaller so they load quickly. I did manage to use my phone as a modem but I was so busy writing complaint e-mails to BT that I just ran out of time. We were decorating, everything went wrong from the wallpaper not being printed correctly to the blind being a pain to fix. I couldn't even get a good selfie as Bear kept hogging it.

#MySundayPhoto Number 35 & 36
#MySundayPhoto Number 35 & 36
Well I'm cheating at bit this week and having two photos. I missed last week by not having any internet and struggling to get photos loaded or anything to work quickly. So this week I have two.The first is of the Weeping Window at The Senedd in Cardiff. It is made up of thousands of handmade ceramic poppies. They can be seen from outside and inside the Senedd (The home to The National assembly for Wales).
They are a small part of the sculptural installations, Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red, that were at the Tower of London in 2014. They are in Cardiff until 24th September.
They are both beautiful and poignant.
The second is of my gorgeous grandsons (of course). Bear is becoming the best big brother and although he does have some jealous moments he is mostly being so lovely.

Summer Afternoon Tea at The Celtic Manor
Summer Afternoon Tea at The Celtic Manor
I love afternoon tea so was really pleased to be invited* to The Celtic Manor for Summer Afternoon Tea with Jo from First Time Valley Mam and Julie from Picking Up Toys.We were taken into the beautiful Olive Tree Garden Room and once seated offered a glass of Prosecco. How could I refuse? Jo had kindly given me a lift and Julie was also driving, so whilst Jorge, our waiter, opened a fresh bottle at the table and poured me a glass they looked on wistfully.
