We love Dyffryn Gardens in the Vale of Glamorgan. We have National Trust membership so do not have to pay every time we visit. We enjoy the gardens at any time of year and it is a great place for toddlers too. Bear loves to explore and at the moment they have a 12 Days of Christmas Trail.
The day we went was foggy and very cold, even the fountain was covered in ice, so we didn't stay long and only did part of the trail. The trail is of course based on the traditional song that we all know but can never remember exactly how it goes. The photos below will give clues where each one is located, if like me you want to know then carry on if not then read the rest with your eyes shut haha!
On the 1st day of Christmas my true love sent to me a Partridge in a pear tree

Can you find the rings Bear? Bear! |
There you are! It's not a man Bear, it's just a statue wrapped for the winter |
Don't drop the eggs!! |
Bear loved the dancers and wanted the bells attached to their belts |
I needn't have worried about the water as it was frozen solid |
Oooh what's hiding in there? |
There is more to it than this. Inside in the warm and time to reflect. |
The pails should be full of water but it was mostly ice |
We managed to find most of them and many are child friendly and encourage children to play. Don't forget to pick up a map at the entrance so you can find them all. Other than the trail there is a fabulous house, greenhouses and a cafe. There is also a small room where you can buy second hand books. Opening times vary in the winter and although the trail is free there are admission charges to the grounds, please check their website before you travel. The trail is on until 15th January 2017.
Can you spot the ones we missed? Put your answers in the comments, sorry no prize except pride in being so clever xx
