Playing Snap! With Twinkl Create

The weather has been awful the last couple of days and the forecast for this week wasn't much better. I really needed something different to amuse Bear. I had been given a subscription by Twinkl*, an on-line teaching resource, and thought I'd have a go at using their new tool Twinkl Create.

The question was what to do and how difficult would it be to create something from scratch?

I needed some inspiration. I thought I'd have a look at what they had and go from there. In less than 10 minutes I had created a brand new game! Snap! Well OK it's not brand new, we all know how to play Snap! but what I liked was the ready made templates and I could choose the pictures. I could just use animals that Bear recognised. Those that he could say the name or do the sound. I had no idea if this would be too difficult for him but I pressed on. I thought he could just look at the pictures and make the noises.

It took four easy steps to create and then print them out onto A4 sized card I had left over from another project. Hey Presto, 12 double sided cards.

Lots of templates are available. I chose cards

I used a different design on the front to the back and printed two sheets exactly the same so I ended up with 12 cards, two of each picture. I found it very easy to add text to each card.

I then cut them out around the printed lines and lined them up.

Bear just loved looking at the cards. Moving them from hand to hand. He liked finding the animals and found two owls. Snap!

*Twinkl Create is accessible through a Platinum subscription. I was given a subscription for the purpose of this review. All opinions are honest and my own.

  1. This looks great, I love the way you can choose the pictures, it would be great for my little boy.

    1. It is so easy to use too. Even I did it!

  2. What a great resource! My daughter is a child-minder (with two under 5 year olds of her own) and I'm going to tell her about it. I loved the pictures, cartoony but really clear.

    1. I loved them too. There are also more "real" drawings to use but I thought the faces were cute.

  3. This looks great and reasonably priced when you break it up per month x

    1. There's loads on there too, not just printables but tips, recipes. I need to have a good look at it all.

  4. This looks a fun activity, simple but really great and colourful too.

    1. I love that I can choose the pictures, and there's a really good choice too
