This is definitely not a New Years resolution, I've been meaning to do it for ages. It's time to lose the fat. I've done it before, many years ago I lost four and a half stone on the Atkins diet. Boy, that was tough. Just the thought of bacon or mushrooms made me nauseous. Since then I have tried lots of diets, all started off great but I soon give up. I just can't keep it going. This time I'm doing it with Slimming World on-line, I really do not think I could give up time each week to go to a group whereas I am always close to a screen.
It's Time To Lose The Fat! Slimming World Here I Come!
What's different this time? Two things really
1. I'm telling you
2. It's cost me £80!
Now you've taken a big gasp in......breathe out. Yes, £80 for three months on-line. There are cheaper options on-line but I wanted the books and the magazine. Further months cost £20 but they say they have deals if you sign on longer so I'll see how I am at the time.
I want to lose four stone. Thats 56 pound, a little over a pound a week if I want to meet my target in a year. It's also going to cost almost £5 a pound so I am not going to waste the money, I am going to do it.
Each week I am going to plan my meals and share my plan with you. As I become more familiar with Slimming World I will share recipes too.
Like all good diets I am starting tomorrow, no really I am. I have made a start today with what is in my cupboard but I need to stock up with SW friendly groceries to do it properly.
I have a vague idea of SW. I can eat as much as I like of meat, fish, potatoes and pasta as long as a third of my plate is vegetables. There are restrictions on everything else. This first week will be learning what I can eat and what I should avoid. Lunch today was salmon, pasta and broccoli spears followed by a spoonful of yoghurt with raspberries and blueberries. It will be chicken for tea.
I promise as I go on that my meals will be more interesting! There is also only half a salmon fillet as I shared with Bear. He loves salmon, he loves pasta too.
This was surprisingly tasty and it was my substitute for something sweet, like a bar of chocolate.

I am going to record my journey here, in public, on the blog. When I reach my target I plan to post a before and after photo and I may reveal my starting weight. Each week I am going to plan my meals and share my plan with you. As I become more familiar with Slimming World I will share recipes too.

I have paid for my own subscription and this series of blog posts are not in collaboration with Slimming World (or anyone else). I am recording it here, warts and all, in the hope that my journey may inspire someone else to have a go and to keep me on the straight and narrow.
Have you started Slimming World? How much is it realistic to lose each week? Any tips would be welcomed too.
