Our weekly journal 22nd May 2017 Cardiff Castle and Cardiff Story Museum

Our weekly journal 22nd May 2017 Cardiff Castle and Cardiff Story Museum

What busy week! Grandad is still not driving so we have been on the bus again. The week started very wet and we stayed home on Monday, that was hard work trying to occupy a toddler when it is non-stop rain and Grandad needs to rest. I thought if he's already wet then lets fill a bowl full of water and let him jump in it. He loved it, he jumped and jumped for ages. He was soaked, it was warm though so not a problem but by Tuesday I had to get out so we went to the park and played on the swings and slide in the rain. It was great fun as the slide was super fast wet and Bear in slippery waterproofs. I also brought the trampoline in so he uses up some energy. He is so good now we just have to get a big trampoline for the garden.

On Wednesday we went into town and visited the Cardiff Story Museum. We have been before, it is a great place to take toddlers, new toys for him and a sit down for me.

I even get cake!

Here comes the Fat Controller - Lol

Where can I buy one of these bikes? Bear played with it for ages.

Then Thursday the forecast was rainy showers but the sun shone and it was a fantastic day. We went to Cardiff Castle. I wanted to see the dragon on the walls, and had completely forgotten to look at it on Wednesday. It was a great day. We went into the tunnels, saw the dragon and bought a £3 sword. Guess what bit Bear liked the best? Of course he even slept holding it on the way home.

He assaulted everyone proclaiming "Bear's a knight!"

The tunnels were used for shelter during WWII. A post about our visit will be posted later in the week as I have too many photos to include here.

Bear is amazing, he has kept me company the last few weeks. He is funny and clever and entertaining. I ask him to stand "just there" "look that way" and he does it, again and again, with the best cheesy smile ever!

We had coffee in Café Zest at the House of Fraser. It was only after I had bought our food I remembered that my bus ticket gives me a discount, oh well next time. The toilets have a nice little baby change room with a proper armchair for any mum who wants to feed in private, and a great mirror. Just had to get a selfie although Bear preferred looking closely at himself.

We are now entering the wonder years. The time when toddlers know exactly what they mean but may not have the full vocabulary to ask.

Picture the scene....Grandad sneaks into the kitchen to eat a triple chocolate cookie in secret. Bear realises Grandad is missing and follows.

"What you doing with your mouth Grandad?" he asks (with his mouth wide open to prompt Grandad to open his to show the contents).

Bear 1 - Grandad 0

Until next week, have a great week, lets hope the sun shines and Bear has a few more gems to share.
