Piglet, Tigger and Pooh

Our week has been influenced by A.A. Milne. I didn't plan it that way but Winnie the Pooh quotes just seemed very appropriate for my Instagram feed and Bear is a bear isn't he? So this week we met two piglets, Bear bounced like Tigger and did we did "nothing" like Pooh.

After the bank holiday we were all exhausted what with Bear moving home and Grandad having a touch of 'flu so we decided we would do nothing.
On Tuesday we went to a favourite place of ours, Dyffryn Gardens. We were delighted to see they have two pigs. Oxford Sandy & Blacks and they are just 4 months old.

I wanted to buy Bear a trampoline. I thought it would be great fun for the garden but after browsing the internet realised that he can't actually jump. Not with both feet off the ground and not holding on to anything so I did the sensible thing and bought a toddler trampoline. One he can hold onto and practise all that bouncing!
Tigger: Come on, Rabbit. Let’s you and me bounce, huh?
Rabbit: Good heavens! M-m-m-me bounce?
Tigger: Why, certainly! And look, you’ve got the feet for it.
Rabbit: I have?
Tigger: Sure! Come on, try it! It makes ya feel just grrreat!

We also did "Nothing" at Dyffryn, in the garden, at home.

"What I like doing best is Nothing."
"How do you do Nothing," asked Pooh after he had wondered for a long time.
"Well, it's when people call out at you just as you're going off to do it, 'What are you going to do, Christopher Robin?' and you say, 'Oh, Nothing,' and then you go and do it.
It means just going along, listening to all the things you can't hear, and not bothering."

Then on Friday Grandad and I went to Coventry. When I was little "being sent to Coventry" meant no-one would speak or play with you. Now I'm big it means a Bruce Springsteen concert with friends. Lots of dancing, lots of fun and too much drinking.

We had a fun week and look forward to all the nothing we will do this week. Make sure you spend lots of time doing nothing too!

  1. Love the pic of Bear on the trampoline, he looks so happy. I love Winnie the Pooh too. My middle child has a gorgeous hard-back book with all the stories in, the illustrations are just lovely. x
