#MySundayPhoto Number 16

#MySundayPhoto Number 16 is of Bear. He was at Tot's Club on Wednesday and they have a little session of singing songs. He has just grown in confidence and likes to be at the front with the leaders.

They sang "Row, row, row your boat" with actions. The first time he had heard it and one of the leaders paired him with a little girl. They held hands and rocked back and forth. If their hands slipped apart they would find each others hands to carry on. It was so sweet.

Jamie's Italian, Cardiff. A Birthday Treat

It was my birthday at Easter and we were away in Aberystwyth so I hadn't planned going out in Cardiff for my birthday treat. Jamie's Italian was treating gold club members to a free bottle of Prosecco for their birthday. I am not anyone special, the gold club is a loyalty card given free to anyone who applies. They have a little treat for all members each month, a glass of wine, a taster and especially for birthdays, a free bottle of Prosecco. So how could I refuse?

Raglan Castle - A Picnic with a View

We are trying to get lots of use from our CADW membership so this week we visited Raglan Castle. Raglan Castle is on the A40, just a thirty minute drive from Cardiff. The castle was one of the last to be built, it was started in 1430 and was used mainly as a fortified manor house although it did see some action during the civil war. We were really impressed with how much castle remains.

Playing Snap! With Twinkl Create

The weather has been awful the last couple of days and the forecast for this week wasn't much better. I really needed something different to amuse Bear. I had been given a subscription by Twinkl*, an on-line teaching resource, and thought I'd have a go at using their new tool Twinkl Create.

The question was what to do and how difficult would it be to create something from scratch?

I needed some inspiration. I thought I'd have a look at what they had and go from there. In less than 10 minutes I had created a brand new game! Snap! Well OK it's not brand new, we all know how to play Snap! but what I liked was the ready made templates and I could choose the pictures. I could just use animals that Bear recognised. Those that he could say the name or do the sound. I had no idea if this would be too difficult for him but I pressed on. I thought he could just look at the pictures and make the noises.

Painting, Peasants and Poo

Painting, Peasants and Poo sort of sums up our week. Bear wasn't well. He had been sick in bed at home and we weren't sure if it was coughing that had caused it or a bug. Then he had some nasty poo's. Lots of poo's. Poor Bear. It seems that as soon as he gets over one illness another hits him. On top of that teething. Life is hard for a toddler.

The weather had turned colder and very unpredictable. It was still school holidays so we decided to stay away from indoor activities and other children in case it was a bug.

We visited Cosmeston Country Park and Medieval Village where Bear was very amused to find an old lady peasant asleep in a very dirty bed.

#MySundayPhoto Number 15 is of a bunch of roses. These were bought for my 60th birthday and even a week later were looking so beautiful I just had to take a photo.

So Happy Birthday to me.
