BRIO Battery Operated Action Train - Review*
We love Brio, we were delighted to review* the Battery Operated Action Train. We already have a lot of Brio, some over thirty years old. It really does last. Bear has a few Brio trains but all are "Bear powered". What would he think of a battery operated one?Just look at his face! He loved it. The little train has a screw in it's funnel that hides the battery compartment. Just a quick undo, insert a AAA battery, and off it goes. It has a switch on the top to go forward, backwards or stop. Easy for little hands to do.
Bear undoing the screw - under supervision of course! |
It went quite slowly up the hills, and chugged along the track. It went much faster when not pulling its load. Bear loved the way the cement mixer turned - telling me all about how cement is transported as a liquid and needs to keep moving so it doesn't set (how do they know this?).
It also has a little coal truck that sways as it it pulled along.
All the pieces are compatible with other Brio sets and can be linked by their magnets and manually pushed or pulled. The train is designed for 3+ due to small parts. This would be a lovely Christmas gift for a child that already has some Brio track.
The Brio Battery Operated Action Train is available from all good toy shops, RRP £22.99.
*We were given the train for the purpose of this review. All opinions are honest and our own.
