Lockdown fun - Painting Rocks

My first go at painting rocks

Lockdown is putting pressure on us all to find ways to entertain the kids while we work or cook or just have a few minutes to ourselves.

Painting rocks isn't just for children, adults can have fun too. This isn't a How To post more a Why Don't You Try This? If you do an internet search you will see so many gorgeous rocks, these are not easy to replicate, but it doesn't matter. Find a rock, give it a wash and dry, cover it in paint or nail varnish or stick things to it, then place them around your local area for others to find.

Why Paint Rocks?

The idea is to paint some rocks, search for rocks, hide your rocks and take photos of those you find and upload the photos to the appropriate facebook page. Most areas will have a "rocks" facebook page.

Our local page "Pontprennau Rocks" is really active at the moment. Children and adults are using their daily exercise to take a walk around the area and take photos of the rocks, some of the little ones are taking the rocks too but they're almost free and they do place them again on their next walk.
This way rocks move around the estate for everyone to see.

I had a go, it's harder than it looks to get a great rock but that doesn't matter, paint one, be proud, place it. Have fun!

Some bright and colourful

Some really simple, anyone could do.

Please remember do not take stones from beaches, I bought ours to decorate a pond and had some left.

Stay Safe, Keep Your Distance and WASH YOUR HANDS!
